Dakota NDT ultrasonic thickness gauges are some of the toughest and most reliable units available, with rugged IP65 rated gasket-sealed aluminium housings and warranty periods of up to 5 years.

Transtek supplies a wide range of Dakota non-destructive testing devices from basic single velocity gauges to highly accurate, data logging, multi-mode, material and coating thickness models with live visual displays.

Applications and Industries

Dakota ultrasonic thickness gauges are widely used across industries where precision and reliability are critical.

In the petrochemical sector, they help monitor corrosion in pipelines and storage tanks to ensure asset integrity and maintain safe operations.

The power generation industry relies on ultrasonic testing to inspect and assess turbines, boilers and pressure vessels, reducing downtime and extending asset life.

These versatile instruments are also trusted in polyethylene tank production, where high‑speed scanning modes detect weak points before products reach the market.

From heavy engineering to routine maintenance, Dakota’s gauges deliver dependable non‑destructive testing solutions that safeguard assets and improve operational efficiency.

The Dakota ZX3 Corrosion Thickness Gauge replaces the best selling MX-3 model and offers a precise, dependable and easy to use solution for a huge variety of material thickness testing applications. The ZX3 can easily be calibrated in the field to a custom or pre-set material velocity or to a known material thickness. With a wide measurement range of 914mm and fine resolution to 0.01mm, the ZX3 provides the perfect combination of flexibility, efficiency and accuracy.

The Dakota CX series of thickness gauges also suits a huge range of industrial applications with advanced features including through-paint and coating measurements, material velocity measurements, audible and visual pass / fail alarms, data logging, Bluetooth and large colour screens with customisable displays.

The Dakota R9 Sonic Tester is designed for automotive and racing applications but also regularly used with lower frequency transducers by manufacturers of polyethylene tanks. Features include a high speed scan mode for minimum thickness testing over large areas and an extended operating temperature range of -30 to +75°C. The versatile R9 is ideal for testing engine cylinders, head ports, chassis tubing, roll cages, body panels and windshields, as well as critical PE / HDPE tank thickness tolerances after rotomoulding or during cooling.

Dakota NDT also offer a comprehensive selection of Accessories and Ultrasonic Transducers with a range of diameters, frequencies and connectors to suit your thickness gauge and specific application.
