The Dakota R9 sonic tester thickness gauge replaces the discontinued Dakota PR-9 model and is designed for automotive and racing applications.

Calibration can be manually set to material velocity or thickness. Alternatively, a list of common material types on the gauge enables quick and easy automatic calibration.

The R9 is versatile, customisable and easy to use. Features include:

    • Precise thickness measurement and mapping of cylinders, head ports, chassis tubing, roll cages, body panels, windshields, etc.
    • 3 material calibration options for increased accuracy - single point, two point, and target velocity
    • 100 readings per second in high speed scan mode locates the minimum thickness over large areas, eg. cylinders
    • Dual element probe identifies blind / internal surface corrosion or deterioration, eg. cylinder or port water jacket areas
    • Dual element transducer V-path correction for accurate results
    • Measurement stability / repeatability indicator for reliable readings
    • 0.01mm / 0.001" resolution
    • Extended operating temperature range of -30 to +75°C

A rugged, water / petroleum resistant, sealed aluminium casing means the R9 is built to withstand everyday use in heavy duty, industrial workplaces.

The R9 is powered by two AA alkaline, NiCad or lithium batteries, with a run time of up to 45 hours.

The R9 is ready to operate straight out of the box and is backed by Dakota's 5 years limited warranty.
