Most standard gauges (Full Scale) lose accuracy as the pressure reading drops, whereas premium gauges like the Crystal XP2i offer "Of Reading" accuracy. This means a 0.1% "of reading" gauge is significantly more accurate at the lower end of its range than a comparable 0.1% "full scale" gauge, often allowing one high-end digital gauge to replace multiple analogue ones. With "Of Reading" accuracy covering the full range of a gauge, you can rely on accurate measurements at any pressure without the need for complicated or inefficient "Full Scale" calculations.
Intrinsically Safe (IS) gauges are engineered to limit electrical and thermal energy to levels that cannot ignite explosive atmospheres. For industries like Energy, Resources, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical, it is critical to select gauges with IECEx or ATEX Zone 0 certifications to ensure they are safe for use in areas where flammable gases are continuously present.
Many of our digital gauges such as the Crystal nVision and Ralston FieldLab feature built-in memory for high-frequency data logging. Laboratory precision test gauges can record millions of data points from pressure, temperature and electrical inputs, eliminating the need for manual chart recorders and allowing for simple and secure digital reporting and analysis.
Transtek provides gauges with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration reports (NATA equivalent). For models like the Ralston LC20, this ensures the device is traceable to international standards and ready for immediate operation in regulated industries such as civil engineering, mining and manufacturing.
While this depends on your internal quality system, most manufacturers recommend a 12 to 24-month calibration interval. For example, the Crystal M1 is designed for long-term stability, maintaining its 0.2% accuracy over a 24-month period, which reduces downtime and the total cost of ownership.
Selecting the correct connection is vital for safety, compliance and leak prevention. Most American-made gauges (like Ralston or Crystal) default to NPT (National Pipe Thread), while many Australian industrial systems use BSP (British Standard Pipe). Transtek stocks a wide range of adapters including the CPF (Crystal Pressure Fitting) system to ensure seamless integration and compatibility between your gauge and process hardware.
